Fees and costs
Nothing upfront. We work on a contingency fee, which means our fee is a percentage of the money we recover for you. If we do not win, you owe no attorney fee.
The Rules Regulating The Florida Bar set a sliding scale of maximum contingency fees for injury cases. The permitted percentage steps down as the recovery grows and steps up at defined litigation milestones, and exceeding the scale requires court approval. Those percentages are set by rule and have been revised before, so ask us to show you the current scale in writing before you sign anything.
We advance case costs such as filing fees, medical records and expert witnesses. Those costs are repaid from the recovery, and we review every line with you at closing.
After an accident
Call 911, get medical care, photograph the scene and vehicles, collect witness names and avoid giving recorded statements to any insurer. Then call us, day or night.
Yes. To use your Personal Injury Protection benefits you must receive initial services and care within 14 days of a car crash, and whether an Emergency Medical Condition is determined decides which statutory limit applies. Miss the window and the medical benefit is generally forfeited, though a claim against the at-fault driver can still proceed.
No. Insurers review social media and will use photos or comments to argue you are not injured. Keep your accounts private and avoid posting until the case is resolved.
Your case
Straightforward claims can resolve in 6 to 12 months after treatment ends. Cases that require a lawsuit typically take 18 months to 3 years. We never rush a settlement before we know the full extent of your injuries.
It depends on your medical costs, your lost income, the severity and permanence of the injury, the share of fault a jury would assign you, and above all how much insurance is actually available. We will not quote you a number from someone else's case, and you should be wary of any firm that does. We can give you a candid assessment after reviewing your records and every policy that might respond.
Most injury cases settle. But insurers settle for more when they know your lawyers are ready for trial, so we prepare every case as if it will be tried.
You will receive a case update at least once a month and a callback within one business day on any question. Many clients text their paralegal directly.
